Petrojet completes Zohr offshore platform

Petrojet’s new achievement:

Petrojet completes Zohr offshore platform ahead of schedule
June 3, 2017

Petrojet managed to complete manufacturing the offshore platform of Zohr gas field (4) months before the due date.

Under the patronage of the Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla, Petrojet’s Chairman and Managing Director Salah Ismail inaugurated the launching of Zohr platform, which weighs about 6,000 tons and was manufactured at Petrojet’s Marine manufacturing yard in Alexandria for Petrobel.

Zohr gas field is operated by Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel), a joint venture between the International Egyptian Oil Company (IEOC) and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

The inauguration was preceded by a meeting that brought together officials from Petrojet and Petrobel. The meeting included a short brief on the yard’s history and the key projects that have been carried out there since its addition to a detailed presentation on the manufacturing process of Zohr offshore platform at Maadia Yard.

After the inauguration, all the officials from both companies and the workers had Iftar together where Petrojet’s Chairman Salah Ismail thanked all the workers at Maadia yard for their hard work and success in this new achievement that will be added to petrojet’s records.

In May, Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla said Zohr gas field will be connected to the national gas grid in its first phase before the end of 2017.

Egypt targets the production of 2.7 billion cubic feet per day from Zohr by 2019, which is equivalent to half of the country’s current gas production.
